Maidenhead Riverside

We started working on this family home on a room by room basis, first we created a cosy playroom where the family gathers for movie nights and game nights enjoying the warmth of the log-burner.

Next phase was an extension to add a bedroom and to create a utility room, completed in 2023. We also redecorated one of the existing bedrooms.

In 2024 we created a study and turned the guest room into a little boy's room.

2025 we ventured outdoors and started working on the patio area to gain some outdoor dining and entertaining areas, currently redecorating the staircase and landing to spruce up some of the overlooked areas of the house.

A cozy snug for family movie nights is the ultimate retreat where comfort and style come together. The lighting is soft and adjustable, with ambient overhead lights & wall sconces that create a dim, relaxing glow. A statement floor lamp or string lights add a touch of warmth. A large, low coffee table sits in the middle, perfect for snacks or drinks, while strategically placed cabinets store family movie collections or games.

First sight of the double peaks. Very nearly symmetrical, we added a new window in the bedroom above the garage to mimic the window on the left side. The result is very effective.

Decorating the new render, the pebbledash blends in perfectly with the old parts of the house and the paintwork finished it off beautifully.

Once the windows were revealed and the decorating finished, the house looked so natural as if it was always like that. Originally built around 1910 it has been extended a few times although we could not find any documentation or images we can only guess what it might have looked like when it was first built. We enjoy adding some character that suits its original era and modernise it to make it more efficient and functional for the family of 5 living in it.
